So, what do you think? Do you like it? I got inspired a couple of weeks ago when I just started flipping through blogs, clicking the "Next Blog" arrow repeatedly. I noticed two things: 1) there are a LOT of good writers out there, and 2) they all have much better taste in graphic design than I do. My tired green polka dots or bubbles, or whatever they were, did nothing to show the world how much I love this blog. (I mean, I really love this blog. It's mine, all mine and you guys actually read me, and that means so much to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.)
Anyway, do you know that there are whole sites where you can shop for cute blog templates? It took me right back to my Myspace days(1 1/2 ago), when I would obsess about the look of my page and slideshow. Ah, youth.
Mr. C said he'd make me a custom page someday, but I know him and "someday" probably means sometime in the next year or so. I mean, we've been talking about "someday" painting our master bedroom for the last 6 years, and he just now did it over Spring Break. So the good news is, it will get done. Eventually. Until then, I think this template fits nicely with what I'm all about.
Also, just cuz I love you guys (and this blog) so much, I thought I'd give you a list of some of the better blogs that I've found out there. I don't know about you, but for me, blogs are like my morning newspaper ritual. Actually, they've replaced my morning newspaper ritual. Scratch that- I never really had a morning newspaper ritual. But I definitely have a blog ritual. I pour myself a cup of coffee, set the kids up with some Playhouse Disney, and run to the office to read through the latest in the world of these interesting characters:
Pioneer Woman- Her site is a little overwhelming at first, but I admit I've become a little obsessed with her. I'm telling you, the woman must not sleep because her site includes links to her cookbook recipes, her homeschooling curriculum, her photography, her short novel, and her regular posts. Did I mention she's a rancher's wife as well? And that she's hilarious? If you visit her site, I highly recommend the "humiliation chronicles." I almost always end up head down on the desk with tears streaming down my face. My kids are a little disturbed to find me this way, but it doesn't stop me from going back. Plus, I heard that a studio bought rights to the love story she wrote about how she met her husband, Marlboro Man.
Big Mama- my alltime fav blogger. Probably cuz she's the first one I started reading. And because she also makes me laugh daily.
McMommyChronicles- she's one of those people who I read and then wish I knew in real life so that I could go out for a drink with her and talk. Sounds sad, I know. But really, she's like everybody's best girlfriend. She has a great Hollywood Gossip site too, called McMommywood. And she's the one who wrote about using nipple cream for lipgloss. Only a good girlfriend would confess to that.
Reverb-I found this guy because he's on a list of Pioneer Woman's favorites. He's a photographer and a minister. He's got tattoos that sleeve his arm. He also has the cutest little girl I've ever seen (next to mine, that is) and a cute baby son. But it was this post drew me in. I love how he writes about his wife. If I was a single girl, I'd be all "Oh my god! He's so sweeeeeeet!
So there you have it. I hope you guys find something from there that you can enjoy.
I just have one more thing to say tonight. Baseball has officially started, and as I've been typing this, my Angels have been kicking ass on their first official game of the season. Matsui and Morales just hit back to back home runs. GO HALOS! Woot woot!
(I don't care how outdated it is- I'll always give a woot woot when it's called for. I still "raise the roof" too. I don't care. The early 90's were good to me.)
You all have a good night.
